CHARITY WORK

THE CHARITY

One of the core characteristics of Freemasonry is charity and the principle of giving your own time or money to assist those in need, whether this in the Lodge, the local community, or inter-state or even internationally.

At District level, our Lodges work hard to serve the communities around them, regularly making donations or organizing events to support some of the smaller local charities that often than not, the members themselves have personal experiences with.

CHARITY FUND

The District Charity Fund consolidates contributions, maintaining a fundraising system that can contribute to the development of social activities and charity institutions. A committee is responsible for the management of the fund and directs resources to social entities and projects that contribute to the social development of our local communities.

VOLUNTEERING

Charitable work is not just about fundraising, and a volunteer system is an important part of Freemasonry, contributing to our local communities. In 2020, more than 18.5 million hours of volunteer work in civic and social actions were applied by Freemasons throughout the United Grand Lodge of England.

CHARITY NEWS

Every quarter all charity efforts carried out by Lodges and groups in the District are reported through our own “Charity News”. This newsletter aims to provide communication and encourage new Charity activities in all Lodges and units. The newsletter is distributed via email and social media platforms and is also available online here.
